A Malaysian Cuddly Family

Daily ramblings from this Cuddly Family in Malaysia…

Having some fun..

Despite the school hols, here’s something a little crazy from Moomykin.

The rules for this meme are easy:
1. Link to the person that tagged you. (done above)
2. Post the rules on your blog. (done here)
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (will do below)
4. Tag someone:

Done no:1, 2. Prob not do no:4. cant think of who to tag, probably LOL Min? Jenn? Kin?

as for no:3 hmmmmm…

1. Chronic Procrastinator… until…

2. Chronic Nester (this is when I get this mad urge to rearrange furniture, sort things, move things etc. This is the one that hubby gets worried about, he comes home and not recognise his house LOL).

3. Stubborn/headstrong/strong willed/opinionated. Im usually determined to do things by myself or despite the naysayers. Sometimes it’s good. Sometimes, well, it’s not so great :) It worked out with being at home with kiddies :D I’m also pretty vocal/opinionated, although I’ve toned down a bit since meeting with the hubs, learnt to “suck it up” a bit LOL But as you can tell by my blog, I’m still voicing things out. :)

4. Reading etc. If Im reading a book I enjoy or not read before, I “vanish” into the book. You can yell at me etc, I wont be listening. Much to d’s chagrin, j2 has also started this err, quirk. hehe It’s quite annoying I must admit LOL

5. I’m inclined towards buddhism Why I put this here is this bit of info apparently shocks people, cos they do assume that being half English means you just GOTTA be christian. I had this with a NRD officer when I tried to get my IC stamped with buddhist for religion. They refused. I think they can’t decide when I’m a DLL (dan lain-lain) or Chinese, if you follow the father. Not the first time I’d meet those stereotypes. :)

6. I volunteer to do things too much. I volunteer for my local residents committee and for the umbrella residents association. I guess partly I get fed up with the attitude of “I will complain a lot but when asked to help, there’s a sudden deathly silence” of so many people. So I go and volunteer. Sometimes I regret it, sometimes I dont :) On the up side, I’ve gotten to know my neighbours better and I like that! We need more of a sense of community these days. Esp with all the crime and other such dodgy things, don’t get me started on all that.

I think d will prob find more quirks/habits etc of mine that can be.. annoying/odd/amusing hehe my mind’s a bit of a blank but whatever it is, I’m a woman of contradictions :) D says it’s both entertaining and annoying a lot of the time :)

I need to get the kids back to tidying up the playroom, cos cleaner is here today! and I need to work.. EEEKKKK

so kin, there you go :P

later days!

Speechless..

I was actually almost rendered speechless by this.

Haris, Marina and Patrick all blogged on this subject.

to me, the school uniforms (boys and girls alike) are just impractical. they are hard to wash, iron, it’s hot and uncomfortable. To me, a polo shirt, shorts/long pants or a skirt (I hated wearing a skirt lol) is more practical lah. and not that horrendous turquiose for secondary school. URGH.

sexy or not, well, that’s just in the eye of the beholder and for the most part, I think men/boys restrain themselves lah, they have self control and whether or not they sneak a peek or admire it all, doesnt mean they will jump on the passing girl and attempt to rape them. And then the whole premarital sex, out of wedlock babies and then prostitution gets thrown into the fray. err.. hmm.. the school uniform never made me feel any sudden urge to throw caution to the wind and do all that. (scratches her head). The mind boggles. Good sex education and teaching kids about respect, that is what will reduce social problems, or one of the things anyway. space for kids to play around, something productive for them to do, (and I don’t mean the useless and pointless, not to mention dangerous National Service, OKAY?!).

again, women get blamed. sigh. Whylah? Hmmm… I wonder why she wanted to rant about this now? lWho is she anyway? Aiyooo.. I bet she is part of those who will cover their young daughters from the age of 5 or something. I never understood that. From what I know, it’s an OPTION from the age of puberty right? I dunno. Im taking a chance in assuming that the majority of muslims do feel embarrassed by many of the comments and rantings spouted by the relligion’s so called intellectuals. I know I would be.

well, I guess it provides us with err.. “idiot-tainment?”

back to coping with the lazy procrastination fall out…

The final days..

It’s my last day of being 34. Don’t I sound so melodramatic :D

I shall find some time to do a synopsis of what I would have thought I’d achieved by this age of 35. And I’ll tell you what fun I had tomorrow :D

I love celebrating occasions and doing fun things for folks, whether it’s expensive or not :) (can’t do the expensive LOL) don’t you?

I’m SO going to have a cocktail (or two or..hehe) tomorrow cos I’m not driving for once and Junji, Min and I are going to have such a blast, kesian the poor restaurant hehehehehee

Party on!

Pie! I made a pie!

Sounds epic doesnt it LOL

ok it’s not so epic, I keep getting the frozen pastry you can get but never dare try wor. So I told myself, today it’s time to try. So I made a savoury pie for lunch. Poked holes in the pastry as supposed to, made layer after layer with tomato sauce, spinach, cheese, sausages (have to lah) and some sweet corn kernels. Dotted the top with butter. (sinful kan?), popped it in oven at 200C at about 50mins. (cos some of the stuff inside very cold, took longer I think). The kids ate it :D It turned out pretty good!!!

Will try a dessert one next and then a crumble. I like experiementing when I get the urge :D
