hahhaa I never expected this!
my blabbermouth is at its best again
Or worst or just opinionated.
What am I talking about?
Here..
reno is done… and once the final moving is done.. I shall be.. happy.. ish..
What’s our routine going to be?
I miss the exercise routine (yes, me!). Seeing Min’s latest entry made me think about how I used to exercise so much more. Now K is in school 5x a week, I should get back into it, esp once the reno etc is done
I can’t wait
Gotta work through the reduction of the dreaded mummy belly!
workshop
Yesterday’s Star Otaku Zone had this. Thanks LH for reminding me about this!
Learn from British artist
ARE you an aspiring artist with dreams of publishing your own manga or graphic novel? Here’s your chance to pick up some tricks of the trade from one of the rising international stars in manga illustration.
In conjunction with its promotion of Manga Shakespeare – a series of graphic novels that presents the tales of Shakespeare as manga characters – the British Council is organising a free workshop on illustrating graphic novels and manga by Paul Duffield, winner of Tokyopop’s Rising Stars of Manga and the International Manga and Anime Festival.
Duffield, an illustrator and animator who takes influence from a fusion of manga and European comics, graduated with a BA in animation at Kingston University in London and illustrated The Tempest, one of the selections from the Manga Shakespeare series.
He will take participants through drawing exercises that focus on observing and drawing the figure, the process of designing a character, and producing a character sheet with turn-arounds, costumes and notes.
Details of the workshop are as follows:
Date: Saturday, Jan 26, 2008
Time: 10am-4.30pm
Venue: Dram Projects, BG-6 Happy Mansion, Jalan 17/13, 46400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Spaces are limited, so register early by e-mailing arts@britishcouncil.org.my.
For more on Paul Duffield and Manga Shakespeare, visit www.britishcouncil.org.my and catch the next issue of OtakuZone as we introduce some of the books from the Manga Shakespeare series.
:) the voting/election fever speeeding up.
The star online had this:
Looks like Bersih is going to do something else (something contained). Feb 23rd Mum’s bday LOL
This was an interesting article. I don’t see it as isolated, whether affluent or not. We see babies/kids with no restraining seat belts, roaming the cars, and this is often with big expensive cars. Bikes without helmets, even cyclists. So many jump the lights. It’s quite scary. And yet..
Just some of the interesting headlines that I picked up on today.
It’s so hot
It’s humid, icky and then evening HEAAAAAAAAAAAVY rain.. this doesnt feel like CNY weather, usually it’s hot and dry for weeks.. La Nina? Screw ups? Election year? hehehe
So much to do this year but the reno is only a week or so left if the weather is ok and the plaster will be dry etc and then the finishing touches and minor work can be done, YAY! then can clean up, move things etc etc. YAY! Then hopefully things can settle down into a proper routine.
No newspapers at long last, just getting the SUN in the weekdays. Reading the MSM sudah jelak lah.. Sigh ok, back to the grind..
Don’s GI Joe assignment now up for preview! :)

Election commission’s electoral list checking thingy.

I cancelled the papers!
yes, I started on the cancellation of the MSM (main stream media) run. However, so far the Sun still remains “independent” so we are still reading that one.
anyway, can read everything online these days
Beginning of the year..
There’s always so much going on it seems beginning of the year, festive season to recover from and to look forward to (or stress over, like hubs does hehe), school fees, this and that payments.. ARRRRGHH
ok, minor rant there. I see the cooking oil market will be “flooded” now. The conspiracy theorist side of me thinks, if the govt could do this all along, why then u want till got rationing then you do. Kosmo carried the story that refined flour also will be rationed. Hmmm.. the Govt boys wanna look like heroes is it? coming in to “save the day” with produce? Hmmm..
So the profits from petronas (all 70-80billion), among other things.. where are they? The raising of tariffs when profits are also greater..
I guess Im on a rampage in a way cos I’ve been struggling with the budget and financial planning as it were (HEADACHE) and seeing the ever increasing costs.. ah welll… and with three kids in full time preschool (well half day), major ouchies! At least we’ve been walking to school each morning, walk here and there, trying to save some fuel costs and get some exercise to boot
Gotta really stretch the imagination to try and find ways to trim here and there, be environmentally friendly without shooting myself as it were.
What are the ways you’ve learn to be more cost effective etc?
EEEEEEEEEE jelak/geram betul
Lately we’ve been reading the news (purely on the mainstream papers, not just “alternative” news).
Changing road names to be “meaningless” See NST’s report. Destroying slowly whatever’s left of our history, buildings, temples, blah blah blah. The patronising tone of our politicians, esp the big boys (in their minds). “The Rakyat” “The people”. Like we are all this massive group of faceless sheep. URGH.
But this made me laugh this morning (and I needed it after a sick kid today), and I say kudos to these guys for having the BALLS to send a little “hint” to our PM. Thanks rocky for this link: bet u wont find it in the mainstream papers.
Things are developing quite “interestingly” (hey if they can coin new phrases, so can I hehe, after all Im part of “THE RAKYAT”). Looks like the mechanism is kicking on for election. Sleeping Head has been very silent you know, despite Chua’s “sex tape” scandal. To be honest, I don’t care lah about what he does in his own time. That’s between him and his family. But with all the corruption, close one eye etc, so obvious, lagi nothing done. What’s happened to the police hunting nurin’s killer? all the other cases? Mat Rempits running riot, snatch thieves etc. They spend more time hunting down the woman in the sex tape, who has it, throwing thousands of FRUs and police officers at peaceful demostrators, candlelight vigils etc. But “tak ada personnel” etc etc for solving crime and doing things FOR real, that will make THE RAKYAT feel safe etc. Tearing down one of the last remaining forest reserves “for development”, tearing down Sg. Buloh Leprosy centre (sorry, dont know the exact name) where for 75years folks have lived happily and sustaining themselves etc. And for all things, an extension of a hospital.. How ironic. anyway like the councils really give a damn lah. They (and others) will carry on arbitarily cos there’s no check and balance, no “listening” to the people’s grouses etc, the EI reports are just worthless.
I haven’t blogged much cos I’ve been busy with the hols, coming back home, school, reno, cleaning etc etc but each day makes me all ITCHING to get voting. GO OUT AND REGISTER TO VOTE, IT:S YOUR RIGHT! You don’t vote, in a way, how can u complain lah, malas betul!
I’m not a fan of the opposition, I think those guys also need to get their act together, work out their differences, agree on an ideology and quit being race-based too! Once they get themselves in gear (much like the Opposition elsewhere), BN will be truly threatened and things will therefore change for the better. But I’d like to give them a shake up this election cos basically I’ve seen the country get worse bit by bit.. eroding much like all those slopes they keep building on. Driving up to penang was such a shock, seeing those bald hills.. sigh
VOTE VOTE VOTE.
